This year's summit will focus on the future of tourism and measures being created to stimulate domestic demand. Hear from Destination Canada and Destination Ontario on the recovery plans and actions that are being taken to engage Canadians in local tourism in the year ahead while planning for the long haul. Listen in as South Eastern Ontario tourism partners share their stories of turning adversity into advantage and despair into hope. Gloria Loree will provide an update on Destination Canada’s recovery plan. Lisa LaVecchia will detail how Destination Ontario is rising to the challenge with a road map to recovery. A strategic plan with thoughtful, responsible and effective marketing. Leveraging the latest consumer research and data from Destination Canada and leading experts, Oliver Martin of Twenty31 will discuss relaunching tourism recovery in South Eastern Ontario. The presentation will highlight potential avenues to tourism recovery and practical marketing and communications tactics for DMOs and tourism operators to engage and influence Ontario consumers to travel. The session will start with a research-insights briefing and then lead into a panel discussion with questions from participants. Guest speakers Zack Fiddis of Frontenac Outfitters, Melanie Harrington from Dahlia May Flower Farm, Luc McCabe of The Finch Market join this year's summit as guest speakers. These entrepreneurs are inspiring examples of how small businesses are reinventing themselves, building community, forming new partnerships and getting creative in the face of adversity.
